Friends of Little Rocky Run
Scott Bierwirth, for his Eagle Scout project, organized a clean-up of Little Rocky Run from the Compton Road bridge to the creek's terminus at Bull Run Creek.  This was a very difficult project because the only way to get trash out was to carry it back to the Compton Road bridge area.  It is about a mile from the bridge to Bull Run Creek so the logistics and labor were very demanding.

40 volunteers showed up and hauled out
31 bags of trash, 6 tires, and an astonishing amount of lumber, including a railroad tie that was very heavy.  Congratulations to Scott and all the volunteers who carried out the most difficult clean-up operation ever performed in the Little Rocky Run watershed.

Scott, his Boy Scout troop, and their parents have been formally enshrined in the
Volunteer Hall of Fame.
