Friends of Little Rocky Run - Virtual Tour of Watershed, Page 2.1, Bull Run Creek to Compton Road - Photo Summary
The Photo Summary of this section of the creek begins with a picture of the confluence of Bull Run Creek and Little Rocky Run.  The right side shows Little Rocky Run emptying into Bull Run, both swollen by the meltwater from the wonderful White Christmas storm on December 24-25, 2002.

Bull Run Creek, one of the most famous bodies of water in the world because of two Civil War battles fought in its watershed, becomes the Occoquan Reservoir a few miles downstream from this location.  Little Rocky Run is clearly an integral part of Fairfax County's drinking water, and what happens in its watershed should be a matter of concern to all local residents.

Photos in this section progress from top to bottom and left to right.
As the photo summary progresses upstream, note that each photo typically has a landmark from the previous photo in it.  For example, the leaning tree in the upper part of the photo below left is where the next photo begins, more or less.  Because the creek meanders, perspective is sometimes hard to get, and some photos show only small sections of the creek.
