Friends of Little Rocky Run - Virtual Tour of Watershed, Page 26, The Falls to New Braddock Road, Cont.

On the left or west bank of the above right photo, there is a real oddity.  What appears to be an old car or truck bumper has been incorporated into an oak tree that is maybe 25 years old.  The tree has not only grown around the bumper, it has raised it about 4' off the ground. This part of the creek was cleaned by volunteers in the summer of 2001.  Very near to this tree most of an old Dodge truck was removed from the stream bed, so maybe the bumper is from that truck. The model for this photo is Will Foster who is carrying an ironwood walking stick decorated with a hand carved beaver.
