Friends of Little Rocky Run - Virtual Tour of Watershed, Page 4.2, Photo Summary - 1st Creek Crossing to the 2nd Creek Crossing

This photo summary reads top to bottom and left to right.  It is worth mentioning that the brush along this part of the creek is infested with chiggers.  Ned Foster got 70 chigger bites at one time on a hot day in July, 2002.

The photo below left and at the bottom show the second crossing.  Years ago, probably to install the sewer line which runs all along LRR, someone placed conduit pipes and tons of stone here so that vehicles could cross the creek.  When they were done, whoever did it just left everything in place.  Eventually the creek washed it out and by-passed the the conduit pipes.  One of the results is the deep pool below right, which is about 5' deep and whittling away at the bank beside it.

The photo at right shows the second creek crossing and the aforementioned stone and conduit pipes. The creek did an end-run around the pipes and slams into the bank shown above right. The photo is taken while standing above the pool shown above right.
