Friends of Little Rocky Run - Virtual Tour of Watershed, Page 53, the Wetlands to I-66

It seems a shame to conclude the Virtual Tour of this segment of Little Rocky Run with trash photos, but it needs to be documented.  The photos below show a dump near the intersection of Leyland Drive and Centreville Farms Road.  This dump appears to be still active.  Who knows what has been buried here...are there toxic chemicals?  What is in the metal cannisters?

The dump features this pile of junked propane gas tanks and other containers.  Again, what is in them?

The dump also features an old toilet or two and a couple of oil storage tanks. This junk looks fairly new, and is an indication that people are still dumping here.

This final photo, like the others taken on a cold and rainy February day, shows an air conditioner in the foreground and the bed of a pickup truck in the background. Someone is going to clean this mess up, the only question is who. While they are at it, they should walk along the stream bed and remove the old refrigerators that have been dumped here and there.
