| Kevin Goldammer organized a tree planting in and around a stormwater pond in the Little Rocky Run neighborhood. Good weather and hard-working volunteers made the project work well. However, no Eagle Scout in our experience has encountered more unexpected and unforseeable planning issues. Nonetheless, Kevin overcame and triumphed over all of them to make his project work. Kevin and his volunteers logged a total of 156.4 work-hours, planted 100 trees and removed 9 bags of trash, including a manhole cover that had inexplicably found its way into a feeder stream. Of interest is that the photo of the two bags below shows the 1,999th and 2,000th bags of trash removed from the Little Rocky Run watershed. |

| Volunteers on hand were: Taylor Knight, Andrew Worley, Brian Worley, John Clements, Mr. Clements, Daniel Hamilton, Jim Thompson, Joe Scott, Charlie Helme, Michael Helme, Ned Foster, and the Goldammer clan – Teddy, Wanda, Torie, Patrick, and Nathan.
Trees and shrubs were provided by the Northern Virginia Soil and Water Conservation District, the Virginia Department of Forestry, and the Potomac Conservancy. The Goldammer family provided drinks and snacks. |
