| Jeremy Epstein, center foreground with blue shirt, of Boy Scout Troop 1371, completed his Eagle Scout project in mid-July. The project consisted of three parts: 1. A clean up of the area in the vicinity of the intersection of New Braddock Road and Union Mill Road, resulting in 28 bags of trash hauled away; 2. The planting of two large spice bushes in the same area where a different group of volunteers recently did a tree planting; and 3. The installation of two Adopt-A-Stream signs at each end of the bridge over Little Rocky Run on New Braddock Road. All of this work was done in the searing mid-July heat. Pictured above are, left to right: John Sclienz, Justin Radican, Kyle Miner, Mr. Keily (in background with green shirt), Jeremy Epstein, Justin Epstein, Mr. Miner (with red sweat band), Eric Gustafson, Kevin Miner, Ben Messenger, Ned Foster, and Paul Keily (brown pants). Brandon Kidwell and Michael McCarthy also participated, but are not pictured. The community owes Jeremy and his fellow Scouts a round of applause. 7/19/2004 |
