The picture at top left shows two large chunks of asphalt that were picked up and deposited in layers on a remaining part of the trail. The next two photos show various parts of the trail with torn out asphalt.
Repair of this trail is going to be expensive and labor intensive. The loose pieces will have to be hauled away. A decision will have to be made if it is sensible to re-build the trail in its present location
