June 24, 2006 - Eric Carlstrom's Eagle Scout Project - Removing a steel pipe and cleaning an area of the Little Rocky Run watershed, page 2
Removing the pipe took about 4 hours.  This was very difficult work, especially considering the heat and humidity.

The pipe was cut into manageable chunks and then carted off to the Fairfax County Land Fill, where it was disposed of for free.  (It could have been disposed of for free by whoever dumped it in the first place).  All phases of the removal had to be done with great care to avoid injury.  Likewise, the danger of fire was real, as evidenced by the sparks in the photo at left.

Volunteers on this project included: Eric Carlstrom, Pat Carlstrom, Vic Carlstrom Jr., Kevin Carroll, Nick Carroll, Alyson Vogt, Kyle Burrell, James Ritchy, Mike King, Vic Carlstrom III, Jon Blake, JB Bierwirth, Diane Bierwirth, David Ritchy, Nathan Milton, Jason Milton, Keegan Collins, Mitch Guess, Rob King, Aaron Myhr, Matt Guess, Margan Carlstrom, Bob King, and Ned Foster.
