| Pipe Removal - August 8, 2007 | |||||||||||||
| August 20, 2007 - compare this current view (immediately below) with the old view pictured further down the page This fine work by Fairfax County removed the single biggest eyesore anywhere in the Little Rocky Run watershed. The pipes were causing the creek to undermine the near side stream bank (below). Worse, flooding would occasionally turn a pipe sideways. The creek should be able to stabilize itself from this point on. The Friends of Little Rocky Run are extremely grateful for this job well done. Special thanks to Gerald Connolly, Zack Fields, Asad Rouhi, Diane Hoffman, Scott St. Clair, Steve Atchison, and Thomas J. Russell. This work was done without fanfare on 8/8/2007 by Thomas J. Russell's Wastewater Management--Collection Division who did the actual removal. (Note the hay in the foreground which was spread here and all the way along an access road used by the heavy equipment. |
